Vent Negru
Werkstatt Kultur-Bar, Chur
Vent Negru live at the Werkstatt, presented by the Folk Club Chur.
The inspiring source of Vent Negru, founded in 1991, is the rich heritage of songs and instrumental pieces of southern alpine folk music, which has been preserved to this day thanks to oral tradition and the records of the first researchers and collectors.
The trio interprets old ballads, lullabies, dance songs and songs in the "canto spontaneo" style that have been rediscovered and saved from oblivion, and enriches this repertoire with new compositions inspired by tradition. Music and storytelling, curiosities and anecdotes with the desire to show the value of Ticino's folk culture and make it audible.
Vent Negru performs at events and concerts in a wide variety of venues in the style of the wandering musicians and storytellers of yesteryear.
