Recognition and promotion awards of the city of Chur 2022

The city of Chur awards this year three recognition and three promotion prizes each. Christian Sprecher, Orit Teply, Siegried Friedrich, Laura Decurtins, Ginia Holdener and the death metal band Arcaine are awarded.

The awarded artists will be honored on Thursday, August 18, 2022 during the public culture award ceremony at the Theater Chur. Both the recognition and the promotion prizes are endowed with CHF 4,000 each. The celebration will be musically framed by the Chur band "From Kid", which also received a sponsorship award from the city in 2015.

With the recognition awards, the city honors at least 10 years of cultural work that is important for Chur and the immediate region. In 2022, one prize each will be awarded to the actor Christian Sprecher, the cinematographer Orit Teply and the composer Siegried Friedrich.

An equally important concern of the city is the promotion of young cultural workers through the awarding of sponsorship prizes. This year, three promotional prizes will be awarded. The musicologist Laura Decurtins, the gallery owner Ginia Holdener and the death metal band Arcaine will be honored.

The public culture award ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 6 p.m. in the Theater Chur. Due to the limited number of seats, registration by email to kulturfachstelle@chur.ch is required by August 8, 2022 at the latest.
