Exhibition Award Good Buildings 2021

This year, the "Gutes Bauen Graubünden" association presented an award for good building for the sixth time. The award-winning works will be exhibited in the City Gallery until 28 November 2021.

The "Good Buildings Graubünden" award honours building owners who have made an exemplary contribution to building culture in the region through their building ethos and whose projects serve as a model of good building quality for the public. Building culture is understood in a comprehensive sense: as the interaction of the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, preservation of historical monuments, urban planning, spatial planning and civil engineering. The award aims to promote public discussion of the built environment and to raise awareness of the importance of high-quality building culture.

Works from the fields of architecture and engineering, urban planning and landscape design as well as spatial planning projects could be submitted for assessment. Eligible were objects that had been completed in the canton of Graubünden since the beginning of 2017 and that had not already been entered in the 2017 competition.

From a total of 82 entries, an independent jury of five awarded six prizes and eight commendations. The winning entries will be announced at the awards ceremony on 16 November 2021 in the Town Hall and will be on display to the public from then until 28 November 2021 in the Chur City Gallery.

On November 23, 2021 at 6:30 p.m., a discussion with the award winners will take place in the Stadtgalerie under the direction of Daniel A. Walser.
